I am looking to buy a soft toss machine. There are two different styles I have seen. One is a tube that drops them down, and the other propels them up.
Here is the one that goes up: http://www.baseballexp.com/100--200/soft-toss/soft-toss/soft-toss/Jugs-Soft-Toss-Machine-A0600/baseball/lev/6/productId/230/Ne/19/Ntt/soft+toss/Ntk/Def/Ntx/mode+matchallpartial/N/33+36+23/Nty/1/VCategory/SearchResults/index.pro
Here is the one that goes down: http://www.baseballexp.com/soft-toss/ATEC-All-Pro-Soft-Toss-Trainer/baseball/lev/6/productId/2811/N/33+36/Nty/1/Ntk/Def/Ntx/mode%20matchallpartial/Ntt/soft%20toss/VCategory/SearchResults/index.pro
Is there a difference really? Or are they just two different types of trainers.
Feedback please?
Also, if anyone is selling any kind of soft toss machine, I am looking to buy. PM me

There is definitely a difference between the two. I think I've read that the Jugs machine that sits on the ground has a tendency to be a bit inaccurate. That's just what I've read, I can't personally verify this.
The Atec seems to be a pretty solid machine. I've owned a soft toss "feeder" style machine and they work pretty well. I'd probably recommend the Atec model before the Jugs, just simply because it's probably more accurate. There is a pretty good video of the Atec model on youtube. Here's the link...

Hope that helps.

I have a jugs and it works very well.
When me and my son are practicing it becomes a usefull tool, 1 on 1 line ball, catcher drills (bunts, passed balls...) and flip drills for middle infield.

My family had the Atec soft toss machine, and we used it till' our hands bled. I really liked it because you could watch the arm come around before it popped the ball up. It gave you an opportunity to load up and time it.
The last ball in the machine always comes out like a changeup.

Here's a soft toss machine new to the market. It was displayed at large LL Tournament in March. It was highly praised by many of the coaches and parents there, and the kids seemed to have a ball hitting off it. This web site was on a flyer that was handed out.

The Atec is the one I have seen in every training facility I've been in around Atlanta.
