Ok, I'm looking to get a new infielders glove. I know I want an 11.75 in. glove, and I like, of course, the A2K, and I like the Mizuno Classic Pro. I've passed my 11.5 in. Mizuno on to my brother, and I like how soft that leather was from the start, but what are the pros and cons of the other models out there?>

I'm interested in the Flare model that TPX has, and I think Akadema has the same thing that they call the Funnel model. What do you guys know about these FLared out gloves? Do they really help you snag?

I just want to hear opinions, and reasons why?

I have an 11.5 A2000 and its amazing. I think A2000 are better for the infield than A2K because they retain their shape much more effectively. As for the flare models, you can just bend the glove yourself which is what I do, no need to get them pre bent. Hope this helps.

I have an A2000, Primo, and two HOH. I like Rawlings better. Now my bother likes the Mizuno Pro Classics as well, because of the softer leather. I dont really know anything about the flares. I would recommend the HOH PPF or Primo.

the tpx flare is a pretty sweet glove. my ss this past year has it.

i would go with the a2k. our 2b has one and i recently bought an a2k catchers mitt... the leather is amazing.

you cant go wrong with either manufacturer. what i do when i cant decide is find the best deal and get it on sale.

I like Rawlings gloves, but recently a player of mine had a custom glove from Yennaco. I really liked the feel of it. It was an 11.

Thanks for the replies. What are HOH's? The a200 and A2K's, How long does it take to break these in. They seem like a much stiffer leather than some of the other's.

HOH, Rawlings Heart of the Hide. Tope end (other than the Primo, I suppose) Rawlings model... but they are known as the stiffest of all gloves. After break in, users swear by them, but you better have a good, tried and true break in method, and some time to break in a HOH, they take longer.

The Mizuno Custom Classic Pro's are great as well, More options than the Rawlings Custom (Web Color, more colors and more lace colors etc) but they do not have a flag option (USA flag, etc.) like the Rawlings Customs. Mizuno is cheaper as well, and the name embroidery is included, rather than an additional charge like the Rawlings.

I'm a Rawlings and Mizzy guy, obviously.

Good luck.

I like the pro preferred models by rawlings. I've had 2 of them and if taken care of the leather holds up really well. Broke in fairly well too. I actually have another one but haven't started to break it in yet.
