For those that don't know, the Florida Marlins and MLB have been trying to build a new retractable roof stadium in South Florida. They have settled on the site of the Orange Bowl. They have reached a deal with the local government for tax payers to pay for some of the project.
It is also be bunched in a so-called "megaplan" that "will expand two community redevelopment taxing districts and then use the money to build a port-to-interstate tunnel and do a number of other civic improvements. In doing so, they would be able to free up money to help the Florida Marlins build a retractable roof stadium at the former Orange Bowl site" (http://cbs4.com/local/miami.dade.carlos.2.773251.html
Local Car dealer and former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles Norman Braman "challenges the legality of the $3 billion community development package, which includes a new stadium for the Marlins, because city and county leaders never gave residents the chance to vote on whether public money should be spent on the projects". He is suing to force a public vote on the issue as a referendum (a vote, a new poll suggests would go against the stadium).
I was wondering what everyone here thought... 1. Will the suit be successful? 2. Is the suit fair?
