The finals will be between Berkman and Morneau.

Whoever it is will likely have a slow start to the 2nd half. The price of glory...

Toss up between Hamilton and Berkman. I went with Berkman.

I think Morneau rakes with the short porch. Hamilton hasn't been there before. I'd say its between Morneau and Berkman, but I'm gonna go with my gut and say Morneau.

Hamilton played in Yankee Stadium a week or two ago.

i dont think he means literally... i think it meant 'He hasn't been to the all-star game/HR derby before with all the fanfare'.

I bet $1,000 on Braun at 10:1 so obviously I'll be pulling for him.

Stickying for today.

Does anyone wish to create a similar thread for the All-Star Game? That too shall be stuck.

I'll go with Hamilton or Morneau. Berkman will be batting right-handed. Favorite has to be a lefty.

Well Berkman decided to hit left-handed despite what he said. Maybe it was just too tempting not to.

Josh Hamilton is really tearing it up. He can just bunt the entire secound round.

This is crazy. This show he's putting on has got the announcers to stop talking about his story for once. (No that its not an amazing tale)

They need to stop the competition. There's nothing more Josh Hamilton needs to prove.

I think I posted this when Hamilton had 18 or so.

Josh Hamilton is simply unbelievable.

I'm just...in shock right now. Josh anihilated some balls, and he had me believing that he could hit one out of Yankee Stadium.

That's all I have to say.

Like when Griffey won the 1999 derby?

Justin Morneau is your winner, defeating Josh Hamilton in the finals, 5-3

It's kinda funny that Griffey hit 0 HRs in his first HR derby but has hit the most HRs all-time in HR derbys. Josh Hamilton is halfway to the record.

This one might be remembered for who didn't win it rather than the one who did.

Hey! I was right. Imagine that. Except I sort of feel guilty though since hesort of snuck in there.

Hamilton did rake with the short porch in RF. The only thing is he went all out in the first round.

I just watched Hamilton's first round again on my DVR and he really went too hard, IMO.

It'll be interesting to see if Hamilton's burnot will change the way guys approach the Derby next year.

I'll go with Hamilton or Morneau.

Wow, you're good! :highfive: Any idea what the score for the actual game will be, and whilst we're at it, the lottery numbers? :laugh

Hamilton was just trying to hard to hit one out of the park, he really wasn't focused on the goal of winning it.

Did anyone else see what looked like one of the kids who jumped down on the black to get one of Hamilton's homers getting choked by a cop?

That was hilarious. I was wondering that too, it looked like the cop had his hands around his neck.
