In light of Scott Shields being added to the 4 strikeouts in an inning club, I was wondering if someone had that happen in an otherwise perfect game, does that end the perfect game? I know typically a perfect game is just no hits, no walks, but does it account for runners reaching on error?
If so, would it even be possible to LOSE a perfect game? I mean if someone reached on error, stole a couple of bases and then was sacrificed in...
Just curious.

4 Ks in an inning means that a runner reached first base. So, no perfecto.
Jerry Reuss pitched a no-hitter that would have been a perfect game, if not for an error.

a perfect game is when no one reaches base, so a drop 3rd would end it

27 up, 27 down. That's the only way to be called perfect.
