Hello, I'm new to the boards but will likely start posting often here. My girlfriend is buying me a glove of my choice for my birthday so I have been researching gloves online for the last few days (today is my birthday). I am a pretty casual player but would like to get a high end glove that will last me for many years to come.

So, basically what I'm looking for is a high-end glove that will last a while for a left-handed casual player. I don't want a big floppy outfielder glove, so I think 12" is probably what I'm looking for. So far the top 2 gloves I'm debating is a Wilson A2K ASO 12" and a Nokona AMG1200 Buffalo. Please let me know what you would recommend and why. Thanks for the help!

I have a Nokona AMG1200 and love it. It's a very high quality glove. I love everything about it. I'm also a casual player (I coach and play with the kids in the backyard) and it's perfect for me. I've heard people complain about the weight of the Nokonas, but I believe the Buffalo version may be lighter. I wanted the Buffalo but couldn't find one.

Thanks for the reply, Jesse. I'm 24 and just want a nice glove I can use to play catch with my brother and have for the occasional weekend game or for coaching little league, so I'd be looking for the same type of thing. Being left-handed I am restricted pretty much to the outfield or the mound, so those options seem to be pretty decent for that.

Have you considered Rawlings PPF or HOH. Even the higher end Mizuno gloves like the classic pro are very nice. I have an A2000 that i don't use because i don't like the way it feels. It's all personal preffrence.

What size is the A2000, Are you willing to sell it?

i would probably go with the nokona...the only downside of nokona's are its weight but it's not even that big of a deal...and from your description, it does seem like the extra .1 pound of weight is going to matter that much...nokona's are probably going to outlast the a2k

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up going with this: http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/product.view.aspx?p=2496

If I don't like it they have a 75 day guarantee, even after I oil and break it in, so I'm pretty comfortable with the purchase thus far. I'll update with my first impressions when it comes in the mail. Thanks again.

BaseballOC2. The A2000 is an 11 1/4. I never thought about selling it, but if you are interested I would be willing to sell it.

A glove is a personal thing. Go to a store that sells quality gloves and try them on. You can't second guess a "feel" over internet research.
