Well trying to sort all this hitting stuff out. Most of it the way you guys explain starts to make sense, however I'm hung up on maintaining the box. I see from all the clips thats the position most MLB players get in, but to me it seams you can't have a conscience thought to maintain the box but instead if your hands stay inside shouldn't that maintain the box?

Keeping your hands back near the shoulder as the swing is launched, IMO, is a better thought.
"Keep the hands back", "Maintain lead arm extension" and "Keep the hands close to the body" are all keys that help the body move the bat. You don't have to LITERALLY maintain the box. The "box" is just a key to getting the bat to be powered from the body's rotation.

My current cues are "'Hands back" and "Let the hands turn with the back shoulder."
Also, remember that sometimes you have to break the box and disconnect (e.g. to hit a pitch low and away or if you get fooled).

Sometimes things just click and gel. "The "box" is just a key to getting the bat to be powered from the body's rotation." I really like that explanation. Sometimes when the experts throw out a term its vague or you have to dig for the definition, well put thank you.

I'm successful with "Maintain the box" with the understanding the desired movement and not a perfect box is the goal.

I dont teach my son to maintain the box. Rather I change his thought on how to hit the ball ( hit the ball in front more, back more, inside, more arms or more hips-legs) . And if the swing comes out with a box somewhere in there, I'll stay with it.

Yeah. Good explanation. Powered from the body's rotation is the C for connection in PCRW.
