Can you guys help me get more noticed by coaches?

i'm 14 yrs old

Positions:

Pitcher
Catcher
Shortstop

Pitching: His normal is high 60's, and later in the games he's been clocked at 73 and 74 Mph.

Catching: Is his utilatie position, and makes a decent throw down, can block balls in the dirt somewhat.

Shortstop: His specilalized position, makes the plays in plenty of time, only made 2 errors all middle school season long.

Batted .600 for middle school team, and so far in babe ruth batting .700.
i will soon be putting a video of me batting up for you to see.

So from this how do you think i am? This is what my coach wrote about me in a letter to my private coach.

Statistics are only relevant to the quality of the competition you face. Your ability and potential may differ based on how much you've grown so far.

High 60's is slow for fourteen. I find it hard to believe you gain five, six mph later in the game. Somewhat is not frequent enough for blocking pitches. You need to block almost all of them.

All you can do is practice as much as you can and play as hard as you can. Always hustle and play hard. You never know who's watching. These are things you have control over.

For our middle school team we faced pitching on avg. high 60's low 70's.
growing phisically wise i'm 5'8, 130 pounds so i think i'm avg. there for a 14 yr old, i'm going into my freshman year this upcoming year. Mentally wise i think i have ALOT more growing to do, i admit it, i always pchye myself out at the plate, i was suprised my avg. was so good.

What in your eyes is normal for a 14 year old to be throwing Mph wise?

Catching is my 2nd string position, so i'm still working on that but i know that "2nd String postion" is not an excuse.

So far i practice hitting 40-50 balls a day off a tee, and i take 50-100 swings a day from the pitchine machine. Once a week i get 3 hours hitting, feilding, and pitching lessons. So i try to practice alot.

My son played USSSA majors last year in 14U. From the good teams he faced 75-83 when at the plate. He hit 75mph and cruised about 73 last year at 5'4". He's at 80/78 this year at 5'11", 145.

In middle school the pitching varied. He saw travel pitchers hitting 80. He saw some real garbage where he had to focus in keeping his hands back. The four primary pitchers on his middle school team last year were all over 70. Two skipped freshman ball this year and played JV. It's a large classification high school.

Just keep practicing often and hard. It's the right thing to do. Find the best competition to compete against. In our area rec ball (BR, LLJr, Connie Mack) is mediocre baseball. Travel presents loaded lineups to pitchers and quality pitching for hitters with the exception of a handful of weak teams. A local team that finished fourth (of twelve) in the Connie Mack standings was mercied in twenty of their twenty-six travel games. They went 0-26 in travel. In 13U our travel team mercied a team that went to the BR 13U World Series. That's the difference in the level of play.
