Would it be silly for me, as a coach, to get hitting instruction for myself in order to better understand rotational hitting better. Thanks in advance.:homeplate:

no it would not be silly, I wish our local HS coach would think like this.

Thanks Cally. After looking up Dr. Yeager, I realized he is only 45min to an hour drive away from me. I am going to take my son for instruction, but I figured I might as well get instruction also. That way I am not interfering with my son's time asking all kinds of questions.

absolutely not! Youe don't need to do it well physically, but you do need to "understand" it physically.

You're asking if it's a "bad idea" to become more knowledgable??? :faint:
Try thinking of it the other way...is it possible to "learn too much"?
So, NO! NOT AT ALL! Learn as much as you can!! The more you learn about this game, the more you will ENJOY IT!
That's the greatest thing about this game - it's a constant learning process (regardless of your "experience").

I've considered this myself. Of course my idea of "hitting instruction" would be to post video of myself here for feedback, which is hit or miss (but free).
For a while I thought about teaching myself to hit lefty, so I could literally learn the swing from scratch...but realized how unrealistic that would be given the amount of time I have to work on hitting. It's hard enough to find time to work with my kids, much less undertaking something like that.
