1905 Giants

There have been plenty of All-Time Team threads on this site, but what about for just one decade?
Why did I choose the 60's? I chose the 60's because that decade encompassed some of my favorite seasons, be they for a team overall (1961 Yankees) or individuals (Sandy Koufax's great years, Bob Gibson's great years).
Of course, only stats compiled during the decade itself apply.
I don't have mine yet, but I will post one soon.

--Bench was a rookie in 68, which makes him a tough sell as best catcher of the 60s. Banks would be my SS of the 50s, but a bunch of guys were better 1B's in the 60s. He was pretty average. Aaron was never a LFer - but he and Frank Robinson were both better Rfers than Clemente.
Second Base Coach

Here is a decent 32 man roster:
Catcher: Joe Torre and Elston Howard
First Base: Orlando Cepeda and Willie McCovey
Second Base: Pete Rose and Bill Mazeroski
Third Base: Brooks Robinson and Ron Santo
Shortstop: Luis Aparicio and Jim Fregosi
Corner Infielders: Harmon Killebrew and Dick Allen
Left Field: Billy Williams and Carl Yastrzemski
Center Field: Willie Mays, Vada Pinson
Right Field: Hank Aaron, Frank Robinson, and Roberto Clemente
Pitchers (listed by number of games won in the decade):
Juan Marichal
Bob Gibson
Don Drysdale
Jim Bunning
Jim Kaat
Larry Jackson
Sandy Koufax
Jim Maloney
Whitey Ford
Dean Chance
Bullpen: Hoyt Wilhelm, Roy Face, and Ron Perranoski
Wow.... This works if I get to use Rose at second base (and he isn't needed for the 1970s team), Mantle, Mathews, Banks, and Kaline are placed on the 1950s team, and Lou Brock and his speed are run over to the 1970s team. Some good outfielders did not make this squad (Howard, Callison, Allison, Colavito). Ken Boyer did not make it either, or Maury Wills... Tony Oliva, Boog Powell. Perhaps I have a National League bias? I have no reason to have one....

I'll go with starters and a starter from each side.
C: Joe Torre
1B: Willie McCovey (Cepeda, when healthy)
2B: Bill Mazeroski
SS: Luis Aparacio
3B: Brooks Robinson
RF: Roberto Clemente
CF: Willie Mays
LF: Hank Aaron (I have to play him out of position, because I'm NOT leaving him out.)
RHP: Bob Gibson
LHP: Sandy Koufax
My favorite decade of the game, by far.

Based upon what Bench did in 1968 or 1969...especially at the stage of his career, I will take him over any catcher of the 1960's.
Aaron, yes is out of position, but if he can RF, he can play LF. I can't leave him off as a starter just because of that. Clemente is still my RF'r because of his offense and defense. Frank Robinson was not near the defensive player that Clemente was and Clemente was no slouch as a batter. I have enough power with Aaron and Mays in LF and CF.
You're right about McCovey offensively over Banks.
