I heard today that if you send a letter to Bud Selig's office I believe in New York asking for an autographed baseball he will send you one sweet spot. You don't have to send anything but a letter for request.

I have not heard that. But if it is true then that's very nice. I feel like right now we are the only 2 people on this site. Maybe its just me.

IF it's true that the Commissioner's office will send you a free baseball with the Commissioner's signature on it on request, which I doubt... but IF it's true, they'll probably send you an unsigned official Major League baseball... with the Commissioner's PRINTED signature on the sweet spot.

Thats a 15-20 dollar ball. I'd be okay with that. But I do think it's a big IF.

It is very true. About 2 years ago I sent a letter to him requesting an autographed baseball along with my thoughts about the current state of baseball. What I got back about 2 weeks later, was a padded envelope with an Official Major League Baseball signed on the sweetspot in blue ball point pen and a letter responded specifically to questions that I had in my letter. A very nice gesture.

I've never tried it, but you probably will have to do a letter request. I tried looking at mlb.com to see if their was an email address so you could do an email request, but I didn't see one. Their was a phone number though. I wonder if you could ask his secretary for the request by phone. Anyway, probably just a safe bet to do it by letter.

sweet I'm glad I brought this up so we can all take advantage of this as well as send him a letter of our thoughts that he actually reads.

Yes it is true. However I have heard that due to the large number of requests that this has stopped. I cannot confirm but I read it someplace...perhaps on this site.

Add my two cents...

Very true, real ball, real sig and QUICK turnaround. One of my first TTM successes and all it cost was a stamp.

I'm thinking he doesn't do it anymore. I tried a few months ago and got a signed photo.

You have to specifically ask for a signed baseball. Otherwise, you will get a signed photo.
