While this Hall of Famer's father was in jail, the young man continued to operate his father's still in their basement. He lived in a northern city.
At college he wanted 5 bucks so he could go to a movie, so he bet a friend of his 5 bucks that he could walk on and join the baseball team. He won the bet and gave up football.
