This country star dreamed of being a major leaguer. He's still a baseball nut and his dad worked security at Busch Stadium. Name him.

Charley Pride??
I don't know, were African-Americans permitted to work at the stadiums as security guards back then?

Charley Pride??Or was it Conway Twitty or Jim Reeves? (two other country stars who played in the minors)

Didn't Garth Brooks give minor league baseball a shot? I think the comment "He's still a baseball nut" eliminates the two gentleman above since they are no longer with us.

I guess we can't count John Fogerty as a country star :disbelief:

Billy Bo Bob Brain? Unlikely...
John Hartford?
Hard pressed to call him a star though.

I don't know most country artists today are a lot closer to him than Haggard or Williams.
I think Pride was a good guess for this one. I know he played in the Negro Leagues.

This is a relative newcomer. His dad was a security guard in the 80's at Busch. This country artist loved baseball and playing it, but didn't play professionally.

dgarza just dated himself!! John Hartford?? Actually the answer is Joe Nichols. He's had about a dozen hits or so the last few years..He now hangs around the Memphis Sounds games when he's off the road. I ran across this in an article in some new Country Magazine that just came out or should be out soon.

Never heard of him. I can't stand what they call country music today.
