Ummm idk, Carl Lewis?

http://www.setpro.com/stuff/carllewis1alr.gif

(only because he asked for a do over, Mariah just took the "L")

and the Mayor of Cincy still imo are the two worst "hurlers" of the first pitch.

Mark Mallory will always have that title until someone throws it backwards. Honestly, there is nothing wrong about a girl throwing like, well a girl.

Vladimir Guerrero would've swung at that.

And still hit it 400 feet.

Well if it weren't for Mariah's "Daisy Dukes" she might have be able to go into a full windup and throw a strike. :)

Mariah should also be given some latitude cause she is the only one mentioned so far that was wearing about 5" stripper heals.

i am not a fan of the current president, but one thing that he always does well is throw the first pitch out...so I will give credit where its due. Hopefully Hillary won't become president since she probably would not have the arm that Bush has...and I know that is sexist.

McCain probably couldn't throw anymore either since he's so old...so I guess that would leave Obama.

Too bad Jim Bunning is too badshit crazy to run for President

I think that the Cincy mayor has Mariah beat. At least hers hit home plate, despite a few dribbles.

Well, McCain is definitely a sports fan since I've heard him talk on ESPN Radio a few times over that past few years. I wonder how many members of Congress know what a balk is?

I thought legally the couple will be known as Mr. and Mrs. Carey. I actually had a female coworker some years back that somehow made her husband change his last name to hers when they got married.

I had a friend who took his wife's last name when they married. His reason was kinda stupid simple, he was trying to evade responsibility for the huge number of tickets he had under his original surname. Not sure how that worked out for him in the short run, but he later got divorced and ended up having to pay for the tickets.

McCain must've been a big sports fan for awhile. I'd first heard of this from the 2001 WS when McCain sat alongside Rudy Giuliani. I'd wondered aloud who their big-name politician-baseball fan would counter Mayor Rudy.

Now as far as politicians knowing what a balk is, I suppose that cheesy humor could be made of the entire DC hearings against baseball, but I'm not sure how funny that would be. Still worthy of a try, no?

Oh, I'm sure Senator Jim Bunning knows what a balk is since he was called for eight of them in his 17 year major league career.

Well, considering that Kevin Federline has been informally known as Mr Britney Spears (in addition to K-Fed), I suppose that the logic is sound. Who ever heard of Mariah Cannon? Even if she'd changed her name legally, professionally, she didn't even change her name when married to Tommy Motola.

Back to the thread topic, I'm guessing that when she was getting her hair done, that guy assisting her should've also pointed the way to home plate, preferably without a few dribbles along the way. :D

You didn't get the impression that she was thinking this was all another music video, did you? :p

i didn't question whether if he was a fan or not...just his ability to throw based on his age. And let me add that I have witnessed many a former player throw out a terrible 1st pitch...not because they were bad, but because they were old and were not throwing anymore.

and don't think this is partisan because let me say this again....Bush can throw...I have never seen a bad first pitch from the guy.

and apparently from all of the medical info on the president he is in better shape than 99% of Americans his age...while according to the latest medical info McCain released...he is not......and Obama...who won the nomination today is supposedly in pretty darn good shape.

I take this with a grain of salt though since most people in the 30's and 40's didn't know the Roosevelt was in a wheelchair and most people thought Kennedy was the picture of health while the truth was he was in constant pain.

His age has nothing to do with it.

You may notice McCain never raises his hands above his head, which is a pretty standard thing for a politician to do. In fact, you may notice he never actually raises his elbows more than a few inches.

He can't. He suffered shoulder injuries in the Vietnam war which were compounded and added to while he was tortured and beaten for 5 &1/2 years while being held captive by the Viet Cong.

He's not capable, not due to age, but torture.

He does seem to be a huge & knowledgable baseball fan, so I'm sure he'll find a way to handle the first pitch if he becomes our President !

Well, I'm just guessing McCain keeps in shape and probably knew how to throw and may still. And yes, just like you, I love it when George Bush throws the 1st pitch. Always a perfect strike from the mound. He threw the first pitch in '06 for Cincy and then we get the infamous pitch from our mayor in '07. And then we get a crippled man this year, he threw from the mound and threw it pretty well, he hit the plate but was way better than last year.
