Taken directly from Ripley's, Phil Cavaretta finished 1953 having played 1,953 games.
Too bad he suited up in 1954.
Two of Virgil Truck's five victories in 1952 were no-hitters.
Dickie Noles was traded for himself.
Bill Bevens, Al Gionfriddo and Cookie Lavagetto, after making baseball history in the 1947 World Series (Bevens took a no-hitter into the ninth, Lavagetto broke it up, and Gionfriddo robbed DiMaggio with a great catch) never suited up for a MLB game after the series was over.
Bobo Holloman pitched a no-hitter in his first ever Major League start in 1953. He did not play beyond his rookie year.
Fred Lynn produced the ASG's only grand slam. It was the second home run Atlee Hammaker gave up in the inning.
Ichiro Suzuki hit the only inside-the-park home run in ASG history in 2007. Not the moon landing, but historic in ASG sense.

Stone had a 1-1 count on Duke Snider when Red Schoendienst attempted to steal home on Stone's third offering.
Schoendienst attempted steal was before any pitch to Snider, according to my information.

You are correct. That is a great example of something that most people think is true because it has been repeated that way so often.

Stone had a 1-1 count on Duke Snider when Red Schoendienst attempted to steal home on Stone's third offering.
I wanted to report back that my source confirms the 1-1 count as accurate.
Thank you for correcting this.
