Is it allowed to have a grip (like you would find on an aluminum bat) on a wood bat? I found a rule that you can't have molded grip, but I'm not sure what this means.

Anything is allowed to improve the grip if it doesn't go above 18 inches i thought, and i've seen alot of MLB bats with a rubber grip that you find on a Aluminium bat.[Robinson Cano bat with an Easton grip]

Look at Pat Burrell's bat, he uses a leather grip.

As far as I know, next to corking it :crazy, you can do almost anything you want to the first 18" of a bat. I know Carlos Pena is another user of the leather grip on his bat.
