I just seen this on ESPN.Bud Selig is apparently banning tricky pitches. The knuckleball and spilt fingered fastball.Thats so stupid. So if someone has one of the best curveballs in the majors and they hide it in the windup and everything like that, are you telling me thats not a tricky pitch?? That is so stupid.Bud selig is the antichrist. Its only in the AL.Thats the other stupid thing. What about bob wakefield.A major knuckleballer, whats he supposed to do???

Why on earth would Selig ban the knuckleball? That makes no sense at all. It's like banning the change-up.

Pending a source I call nonsense on this.

Neither pitch involves doctoring the ball. This report must be incorrect. Link?

Interestingly, no link could be found about this on espn.com, mlb.com, I couldn't find a link on google.com when I typed in "Bud Selig". I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to. Or is this an ill-timed joke?

Either the OP is a perpetrator or a victim of a hoax.

I couldn't find anything. When I typed in "Selig" under their search, I only got links to MLB's upcoming changes to their drug policy.

Let me get this straight... some of you guys actually believed this enough that you searched ESPN for it? :dismay:

The only trickey pitch I would ban are the ones Gaylord Perry threw - doctored, doctored, doctored...

With marketing Bud, you just never know after that.

Yeah its just a joke.I seen the quotes about a knuckleball being banned and I knew it couldnt be true. And it said that innings will be timed and that they hit unitll 3 outs or times up.Thats crazy.

I knew it had to be fake. However, I had to verify this. I figured that not even Bud Selig would do anything this crazy.

I figured that April's Fool was long gone, so scratching of my head was my only other option.

Hmmmmm...I initially thought that "knuckleball and spilt fingered fastball" may have been nicknames for new drugs!! :D
