He wouldn't actually know. None of Steinbrenner's horses have won the big race on the first Saturday in May.

You got that right. His baseball team isn't going anyplace either.

But they've won with Steinbrenner having horses in that race, it's something he's always done.

And, it is exciting. It can be argued the owner of a race horse is a bit closer to the horse than the oowner of a bseball team is to the team, which could explain where Hank is coming from. I wouldn't put too much into it.
