Peavy, Oswalt, then a pretty substantial dropoff, most likely to Zambrano, though I haven't figured that out yet.

I find Peavy's results interesting so far. 2nd in the First round balloting. 0 Votes in the 2nd Round, 2nd again in the 3rd round. He has the most vocal supporters so far, yet only has a 3 vote lead as of now...

Peavy (with run support)
Oswalt (but not this year)
Sabathia (ditto Oswalt)

Why no love for CC? He's a horse.

Not enough people are voting and the results are being skewed. Roy Oswalt is currently crafting a better career than either Roy Halladay or Carlos Zambrano. Webb and Peavy are a few years younger and have already peaked higher, but, looking at career numbers, a case could be made for Oswalt being number two on the list after Santana.

Guess I'll drop another vote for Peavy. Eventually he'll win. :)

I'm still feeling my way though this thread. In selecting our choices, do we pay more attention to "stuff" or longevity? I understand that both would be the ideal. but if it comes down to a choice, which carries more weight?

I still think Oswalt is a good pick, though. He's having a bad year so far (I wonder if he's hurt?), but the IP are pretty decent, W-L is good, and so is the ERA. Peavy has a bit less experience. Is that the knock on him?

I had originally written something to the effect of what I Felt was most important, and then eventually in the writing of it, I basically said vote to whatever you feel is most important. Stuff, Longevity, Finesse, Gut instinct, etc, so I just left out any "voting guidelines" at all.

For example, Mark Buehrle is a good pitcher no doubt, but right now, I think that Danny Haren in general is better. He's a better pitcher right now, and 15 years from now when they're both retired, Haren will have been better than Buehrle.
