I am new to BF, and was wondering what are some good Instructional Videos. I've had some people ask me about giving lessons to their kids.

I played college ball 11 years ago, and want to brush up on some things especially teaching young kids.

The kids would be in the 9-14 year old range.

Any ideas or pointing me to another thread would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It's good you want to do that. Playing doesn't equate to instructing but it sure can come in handy. What skills are you looking to instruct?

Mostly hitting, but also some pitching and basic defense.

I feel pretty comfortable with outfield defense, and most hitting stuff, but I would need quite a bit of help in the pitching and infield dept.

I think an all-around brush up would do me good.

Here are a couple recommendations on defense. I can vouch for Ripken, the other I've only heard good things about:

That is such a key to good instructing. Let's face it, there are tons of instructors out there (at least in my neck of the woods in Seattle). The big time separator is if the instructor can communicate with the player instead of to the player. Asking questions, learning about other parts of their life while instructing creates a bond between instructor and player. It's great for business, but more importantly, it's great for building people.
