View Full Version : Denorfia, Buck, Linden, Gonzales?
All 4 of these outfielders are with the Sacremento River Cats in Triple AAA now! It's logical that the A's will call one of them up soon. The question is who? Travis Buck and Denorfia are playing, but it's too early to tell if they're at 100%
Todd Linden is batting 351 with 3 homers and big prospect Carlos Gonzalez is batting 301 with 3 homers and has about 25 more at bats than Linden..
I would kind of like to see Todd Linden get a chance, but i think we're getting used to seeing him passed over..
Take a guess which of these 4 talented outfielders will make it to Oakland first!

Travis rises first.
Travis rises first.
That's a logical choice Ralph! Buck will certainly recover quickly from the injury and maybe he already has.. I'm voting with my heart for Todd Linden, but my head tells me i'm wrong!

I just hope they don't rush Gonzales.

It'll be Buck, I think he was mainly in AAA to rehab. Linden is my favorite of them all, and would love for him to get his chance. He's certainly paid his dues.

Buck hopefully, then Denorfia in a close second.

Linden will get another shot until next year in Spring training. That ex-Gnat should know better than to run his mouth in Spring training cause it won't get you anywhere. The opposite of Linden was Mike Sweeney, and the A's found a way to install him into the lineup despite having too many DH's.
I voted for Buck. No need to rush Car Gone.
I have to excuse myself for not adding Jeff Fiorentino to the poll! I'll really be embarassed if he's the outfielder the A's call up first!

Well it definitely won't be Linden since the River Cats let him go today. Maybe he'll return to the Gnats. At least one of their OF's is working out for us.

Wow you're right! Todd Linden isn't on the Rivercat's Roster anymore! I can't find any news releases on his departure though! Brad Halsey seemed to go the same route after certain emotionally charged statements! It's been a bad year for free agents! Most of them are unsigned or signed minor league contracts somewhere! I guess i'll have to pick Buck too, but if the injury issue flairs up again or Denorfia looks sharp at the plate, then it's choice number 4!
Yeah it's offical! One day after this thread went up and despite batting over .351 Todd Linden was released!

On May 20, 2008, Linden was released by the Oakland A's.
Buck will be called up first but then Denorfia will come in after him too.

Looks like the recently released Linden just landed a gig w/the Indians, and was promptly assigned to their AAA team. LOL...

Ugh. Saw that, and mlb.com had him listed as a RHP. That just sums up his career right there.
It looks light both Gonzalez and Buck were called up at the same time with Buck and Gonzalez both getting a start in today's game against the Rangers!
