Mike Norris, Oakland, 1980; Dana Fillingim, Boston Braves, 1918; Dutch Leonard, Boston Red Sox, 1914; have all gone 8 games and currently share the record with Volquez.

Also, Edinson Volquez will face Cliff Lee today marking the 3rd time in MLB history that the ERA leaders of both leagues face each other during the regular season. Previous times include Hideki Irabu vs. Al Leiter in 1998 and Tom Glavine vs. Derek Lowe in 2002.
