Angled seats in new ballparks

I am a Twins fan (and baseball/ballpark fan in general) and am very exited for the new park opening in 2010. I am wondering about the use of angled seats from those of you that have been to any of the new HOK parks.
The new Twins park has a seating bowl that is parallel to the foul line until it reaches the corners and then it curves towards the infield. This is fine unless you're sitting past 1st or 3rd base. If you're sitting past the infield you'll have to turn you head to see the plate.
I am aware they angle the seats further in the corners, but I am unsure if they angle the seats in which the section is parallel to the foul line.
Some new parks that come to mind with similar seating an Citizens Bank Park and New Busch.:crossfingers:

They were pretty good at Mays Field in San Francisco, although I'd rather sit behind homeplate in the upper deck than sit in the lower level corners.

I thought I saw a newer rendering of the angled seats at the new Twins park and the views looked better than I expected.

The seats at new Busch are not angled down the lines. The stands curve in toward the infield in the corners. I sit in the bleachers normally, but I sat in the field box seats for a game last year, right down the 1st base line and you had to turn your head to the infield. I found this odd. At old Busch the seats were like that but that was because those field seats were also moveable stands for football and had to be aimed nuetrally. I thought at the new park the seats would face in to more of the infield.

Great photo above, that pretty much sums it up. I think most of the new stadiums have their seats angled towards 2nd base and from my experience it's a great advantage.

The worst seats I ever sat in were down the 3B line at Camden Yards......Sure I was close to the field but after having to turn my head to face home plate for 3 hours, my neck hurt for the next 2 days.

Having sat in angled seats at both Petco Park and Safeco Field, I can say that I enjoy having my seat pointed toward the field. On top of the fact that both have seating bowls that curve around the infield like most current and future HOK parks, having angled seats makes you pay more attention to the action in the infield. I guess the only complaint I'd have is that, depending on what base line you sit on, you have to really turn your body to see what goes on in the outfield - more so if you sit in a lower deck than an upper deck. But in general, this feature is an upgrade over seats in non-HOK parks.

Angled seats are not exclusive to HOK parks, Citizens Bank is not an HOK park and they have angled seats. I think it's pretty much a standard practice in all new ballparks these days regardless of who designs them, provided the shape of the seating bowl requires it.

Yes it is, it was designed by ECCB of Philly and HoK Sport.

That's absolutely right, I totally forgot that it was a "joint-venture". They certainly didn't make much mention of the HOK connection from what I recall, mostly all you heard during construction/planning was the Ewing, Cole, Cherry, Brott name. Of course this was over 4 years ago so my memory is a little faded.

Man, what's the last ballpark built that HOK didn't have their hands in? Seems like they're everywhere!

I have heard that before about New Busch. This upsets me very much as I assume they will screw this up at the Twins park as well. Why wouldn't they angle those seats? Looks like there will be about 3 sections of seats down each line where you have to turn your head to see the plate. What happened to the 'V' shaped seating bowl? There would be no need to angle the seats then.:grouchy

It doesn't really matter because CBP looks great...I can't wait to visit. (just wish it wasn't so hitter friendly)
