This member of a sports Hall of Fame was drafted by the Dan Topping owned New York Yankees. He played one year with the Yankees and then played the rest of his career with the New York Giants. The guy he backed up in college is in the same Hall of Fame as the answer to this question. The guy he backed up also never lost a start as a college baseball pitcher. Tom Landry - who played for football New York Yankees(owned by Dan Topping) and New York Giants
Bobby Layne - guy Landry backed up in college

Both are members of the NFL Hall of Fame.

Dan Topping also owned the New York Yankees pro football team which drafted Landry. After the league failed, Landry went to the Giants. And when first in college he backed up Bobby Layne at quarterback who never lost a pitching start at Texas. I tried to trick ya, but you got me....:clapping
