Do they sign more because they aren't playing? Does it not really chance their signing habits? Just wondering because a few players I have been looking at have been placed on the DL lately or have been on it for a while now. I'm not looking to send to A-Rod or anyone that big, but does it make any difference at all?

When Brandon Backe of the Astros was on the DL last year, I wrote to him and got my 8x10 signed in record time. Sent on a Monday, received that Saturday. Fastest I have received in a LONG time. So yeah, what else do they have to do? ;)

That's really good time. I'll try a few then. It's true, what else do they have to do? :)
Backe is pretty popular as well for autos I would think.

The only time I've tried this was with Shin-Soo Choo last year when he was on the minor-league DL and I didn't get anything back. On the other hand, I've never seen a success with him, either.

I've never noticed any real uptick when a guy is on the DL. I've sent to a few guys on the DL, and they didn't seem to come back any faster than other requests, and of course, a good number didn't come back at all.
One thing to think about when sending a request....what type of injury is it? If the guy broke his throwing (writing) hand, he probably won't be signing any autographs for a while.

Heads up...Tulowitzki is out until at least All-Star Break w/strained quad. He's young, and a growing star, maybe he's innocent enough to sign in his ample time.....
Pity all these injuries though so early...at least big Papi is on the DL parallel to Arod.
