I heard this on WGN Radio this morning, and kind of blew me away.
Did you know that the 3 straight victories over the Reds in which they scored 10 or more runs was the first time that the Cubs put a string of 3 consecutive 10+ run games since 1894?

We're seeing stuff we haven't seen for 109 years.
All I ask is that we see something we haven't seen in 5,
a trip back to the playoffs with this effective pitching staff.

Maybe its a good omen that the Cubs are doing things that haven't been done since the 19th century.:D

Just thought I'd bring back the the oldest post on page 53. which actually i can swing it on why I am bringing it back. We win tomorrow, that is three straight against the reds THIS YEAR( 2006) and will make us have a winning road trip)
tomorrow would be a real nice win. 3/4 against a red-hot Red team would really put some fire underneath our feet I think :clapping :gt

I must be missing something because that isn't true at all.
For instance in 1930 the Cubs won 5 games in a row (part of a 9 game streak) in which they scored 10 or more runs in each of those 5 games. They had a 3 game streak in 1929. In 1998 they had 3 consecutive games 10+ runs as well, and they did it in 2001 also.

And there's a Repbulican President. Oh wait, that's when the Yankees can't win the World Series. Sorry. Nevermind.
