Here's the view from Yankee Stadium, Section 35 of the Tier Reserved (also known as the last section all the way in right field).

My Fujifilm Holiday Pack seats (11 games at $5 per) are actually in Box 669, Box A of the Tier Reserved, which is also at the very end of the right field stands but way down front, and the view from there looks something like this:

Here's a shot for reference of where my seats were (taken from behind section 131):

Edit #2:
Btw, those tickets are $23 - $35 depending on the opponent ($35 only for when the Yanks and Sox roll into town). My suggestion: go to a game that won't be a huge draw, buy a $9 upper deck seat from a scalper for five bucks, and just sit wherever there's an empty seat. They'll check your tickets anywhere in the main bowl, but in the 100 level OF, you're in the clear. Save yourself a good twenty bucks.

It really isn't a bad park. It gets a bad rap because of the roof and the turf, but it really is an enjoyable place to watch a game, especially if the attendance is 35,000+ (I think the game pictured above was 31,000 or so).

I love the view of the CN tower from the seats on 3rd base side.

I hope to visit that place w/in a year or so. I have a buddy in Toronto

I'm going down again during the next homestand, so I'll move around the park more and try to get some other vantage points. The CN tower looks awesome jutting into the sky. When I was a kid I'd always think it was falling over when I looked up at it, but it was only the clouds moving behind it.

This one is from my Sunday Plan seats, Upper Box 703A.

Had many great memories from these seats and whatever I get offered in Chitty, I'm sure the seats won't provide the wonderful view these have. Hopefully the mets will allow plan holders to keep seats around other plan holders because the friends I've made sitting here would not easily be replaced after more than 15 summers together.

Incidentally, the photo was taken from the game that L Millz hit the home run after which he high fived fans along the right field line and Billy Wagner told the rook to know his place

My Sunday seats at CBP (taken at the 2nd pre-season exhibition game in 2004). We used to be in the lower level at the Vet, dead center behind home plate, however in the new ballpark that was not an option...full season plan only and twice as expensive :(. However, we asked for this section, with an aisle, and under cover (never rained on, in the shade for the summer months!) and got exactly what we asked for. Hopefully everyone's relocation in YSII and Citi Field will be as smooth but somehow I doubt it...

Just curious, how exactly did the Phils handle relocation? What sort of options were you given in determining your new seats?

Thanks.

Yes, though technically just above where the walkway is (that picture was taken from the 200 level looking back towards the 300 level, not sure of your familiarity with the Vet). But anyways, that's the tunnel we sat next to (just to the left in that picture). Section 328, row 5, seats 6&7.

Well each team will handle it differently obviously but here's my experience with the process and a little background as well:

My family had 4 Sunday tickets since I was 2 (born in 1983), we later kept only two after my sister got older and lost interest and Mom decided to stay home on Sunday's too. Anyways, our seats had an excellent view, were in the shade and out of the rain, and lined up HP, 2B and CF perfectly...so directly behind home plate basically.

When info on CBP came out, we realized that we were not going to be able to get comparable seats, especially at the same price ($25 each in '03, last season at the Vet), and infield seats the first year at CBP could only be bought in full season plans. Obviously my dad and I were upset but during the last season at the Vet, we went into the ticket office before a Sunday game and sat down with a ticket rep. We explained what we wanted and took the survey they mailed for us to fill out with our preferences (i.e. section/seating area, OF/1B/3B line, aisle seats, under cover/in the sun etc...) We asked for left field arcade level (between the lower and upper decks and the same price as our Vet seats), 3B side, under cover, and aisle seats.

Lo and behold, either because we personally went into the ticket office instead of just mailing in our survey or because of our long standing ticket account with the Phils, we got exactly what we asked for. To be honest, the location is not on par with the Vet but the location is very good and being out of the sun on summer afternoons is great. While it would have been great to keep a similar location in the new ballpark, I couldn't have been happier with how it worked out. And as much as I loved the Vet, the added revenue for the team, a great ballpark experience, and consistent fan support, definitely win out any day of the week.

Now I realize that we may be an exception but if any of you guys have been season ticket holders for a long time, go to the ticket office, stay on top of them, and see where it gets you. The Phillies took into account your previous location and tenure with the club, hopefully the Mets do the same and take care of you guys. Sorry for the novel, hope it gives some perspective on the process :)

I can't emphasize how lucky you all are to be able to go to so many games. I have to hop on a plane, get a hotel room and all that stuff just to get to see the Yankees.

Hard to imagine this . . .all this . . . began with a big bang, somewhere out there. I'm with ya TnNYFan and some numbers along . . . I'm attending a game at "the stadium" this summer, with all it's changes, it's really worth seeing once. How could one "not" and ever proclaim him/herself a baseball fan. If i didn't respect this, I wouldn't respect myself. And i'm one of about 12 fans that loved Candlestick Park, grew up there. Do it TNYYfan. I'm gonna.

I've been to two games at Yankee Stadium, saw A-Rod hit 500 last year against the Royals. My family, my wives family and all our friends live in Tenn., and I'm not sure she would be up for moving to NYC just so I can see more Yankee games.:)

Do they allow anyone to go down to the front during batting practice, or did you have tickets for those seats?

Actually, off in the distance is the Honda Center where the Anaheim Ducks play. The bridge is actually the 57 freeway. If you are driving past the stadium during a game day on that freeway, looking into the stadium with all the fans is a pretty cool site.

I think Dodger Stadium has the worse. Come on....a view of the hills of what use to be Chavez Ravine? The best view is on the other side of the stadium, Downtown L.A. I admit, Anaheim is no better, but atleast it's more open and not so secluded.

I'm assuming you have to have a lower level ticket but I don't know for sure. I had tickets like 10 rows up and I think I remember them checking my ticket.

I visited Yankee Stadium in 2004. I had upper deck seats, but anyone with a ticket is allowed to enter Monument Park before the game. I entered through one of the outfield gates and went to check out the monuments. From there, I was able to walk around the lower seating areas for a while before the game.

Thanks, but by "down to the front" I was specifically referring to the very first rows right next to the field, where the photos TnNYYfan had included in the posting I was responting to were taken. Those seats, closest to the field, are manned by "security" people who keep the aisles chained-shut and check your tickets before they'll let you in, but since TnNYYfan's photos were taken during batting practice I thought maybe access was easier then.

TnNYYfan responded in a subsequent post: "I had tickets like 10 rows up and I think I remember them checking my ticket." As shown in this unusual, seldom seen view...

(Photo taken April 2, 2008. © Gary Dunaier)

...there are eighteen rows between the field and the main aisle (not counting the ultra-premium seats right up front). TnNYYfan says he was in the 10th row, so I'd guess that the answer to my original question is: no, you can't go right up to the field at Yankee Stadium during batting practice. :(

(But I'd love to be proven wrong. :hide: )

They'll let you stand by the walls on the first and third base sides near the foul poles. Usually the players warm up in those corners, so you can try then; last year my friend and I had a whole conversation with Justin Verlander.
