Player preference usually. MHO is 11.5 inch. Some like it bigger, some smaller.

11.25 is the best for me.

I like 11.25. Used a 11.5 when I was younger and found at times I would have trouble getting the ball out quick because of that extra 1/4 of an inch. Bounces usually are too tough where you are gonna need that extra glove up the middle. Thats why I like a 11.5 for third base more to knock it down (play bigger).

I usually recommend the following:

2B - 11 or 11 1/4
SS - 11 1/4 or 11 1/2
3B - 11 1/2 or 11 3/4

I know nothing about fielding, but wow so small for second?

Smaller= quicker out of the glove?
Biggner = easier grounders and fly balls? no?

The middle infielder isn't catching most balls in the pocket anyway. For most plays he wouldn't need a glove much bigger than his hand.

I like 11" at SS and 10" at 2nd. I always used a 11.5" at 3rd. I think it's a personal preference. I like a small wide glove in the middle infield though.
