Anyone know the details about Jason Schmidt's shoulder? The latest release on dodgers.com stated that Head Trainer Stan Conte had watched Schmidt throw from the mound and that Jason appeared to be making some gains. I'm looking to find out exactly what his injury was - not so much just "torn rotator cuff", but a description with some details. I never did read anything other than it was a "serious" injury that required reconstruction of some sort.
Any details are appreciated.

Rarely do I look at ESPN to give me any Dodger news, but so far that's all I could find.

Thank you, mojo. Recovery from a labral tear is serious stuff. I read recently that Kris Benson's similar injury was given a 12-14 month full recovery schedule.

This article details what Schmidt has had to overcome. As I said, any type of labral tear is devastating for a ballplayer, but some are worse than others. I believe what is being described is either a Bankart tear or a SLAP tear - either way, the rehab is n-a-s-t-y.
As we all do, I wish Jason all the best - how sweet would it be for him to get healthy just in time for the Dodgers' drive for the pennant?! I think a full return after the AS break is very reasonable.
