WOW, LeoD, that photo brings back some memories.
Actually, the DODGER COETTES, were a fan club group around 1952/1953/1954. You didn't see them (as a group) much after 1955. The only girl I remember is the third one from the left. While I can't remember her name, I do believe she joined OUR DEBS, for a short time.
Thanks for posting the photo. It was nice seeing it again.

Deb what was the actual name of your group, did your group have any interaction with the Dodgers Sym-phony or Hilda Chester.

Your welcome, I knew it wasn't your group, but I hoped it would bring back some good memories.

The actual name of OUR group was The DODGER DEBS!
There were so many groups, many of them short lived. But, while they were around, WE did have a lot of interaction, and a ton of fun!
WE did see OUR Sym-phony all the time. They came from the same neighborhood that Dodger Deb, too! and I grew up in. They were really a great bunch of guys, who loved OUR Dodgers as much as WE did. Their "music" was part of OUR Ebbets Field, and the fans loved having them around, as did OUR players. They helped make every ballgame uniquely BROOKLYN!
As for Hilda Chester, her days, for the most part, were earlier than US. She hardly ever sat in the same place (third base, centerfield, homeplate), although her cowbell could be heard from everywhere. She was quite a character, just one of many at OUR Ebbets Field.
I know these are only words, but it was such a fun and happy time....WE thought it would last forever!

This is what the Dodgers were about the fans, groups like yours the Dodger Debs, The Sym-phony, and Hilda. You just weren't going to a ball game you were experiencing so much more. The easy access to the ballplayers before and after the game, no other team had the diehard fans the Brooklyn Dodgers had. We all thought it would never end, we thought the Dodgers were ours forever but greed got in the way and broke our hearts. Deb do you have any photos of your group that you can post, do you stay in touch with any of your friends from your Dodger days.

If not greed, it would have been something else. the 60's were not the 50's, the 70's and 80's brought free agency and player strikes, the 90's had a cencelled World Series. All along there was expansion and other franchise moves. You folks were lucky to experience a certain period in time. Maybe the last like it. Things would have changed anyway, and fairly soon. Enjoy your memories. At least you have those.

Things would have changed? Of course they would have changed, but they did not have to change and should not have changed the way they did.
At least we have our memories? Of course we have our memories. We have them because we are not brain dead. But the memories we have should have been better memories, and these memories cannot be enjoyed no matter how strenuously you urge us to enjoy them.

Sorry, kramer47, no can do! I have decided that most of my personally taken photos, and they are numerous, will be included in my book.
I was fortunate to have made friends with many people connected to OUR Dodgers, and happily have maintained those friendships through the years. As for my sister DEBS. Sadly three of them have passed away, but the rest of us remain close, even though many miles now separate us.

Those inclined to be bitter would find something different to be bitter about. Some moved on to a new team. Some moved away and found other interests, some were wounded by changes to the culture and the game that happened in following decades. Of course the memories would be different.

It is nice to have maintained friendships for so many years. I know you were very young when you started with the Debs, what years were you young ladies at Ebbets Field. When is your book coming out, I thought at one time you said you were going to give a sneak preview to the people at this forum.
