What do you think the lineup will look like now that Glaus is gone. This is wat I'd like to see so far.

1. David Eckstein
2. Alex Rios
3. Vernon Wells
4. Frank Thomas
5. Scott Rolen
6. Aaron Hill
7. Lyle Overbay
8. Gregg Zaun
9. Reed Johnson

It's a first draft, I actually don't like this.

Against Righties I like this

1. Eckstein
2. Overbay
3. Wells
4. Thomas
5. Rolen
6. Rios
7. Stairs
8. Hill
9. Zaun

Vs Lefties how about

1. Eckstein
2. Johnson
3. Wells
4. Thomas
5. Rolen
6. Rios
7. Overbay
8. Hill
9. Zaun

I'm sure Gibbie's going to show us many variations of line ups with JMac seeing time in and out of the line up and a lot also depends on whether Reed Johnson can bounce back to his amazing year in 2006.
Should be fun to watch.

Ya. We haven't had a consistant lineup since 2006.

i wouldn't be too surprised if we see reed batting 9th when he plays along with eckstein. gives that 'double lead-off' feel to the line-up.

I've never understood why you guys think Reed Johnson is a leadoff man. He had a good tear in 2006 but he's just too inconsistent and he generally falls short of true leadoff numbers in terms of OBP. And he doesn't have that much speed. I'd call him a half-decent #8 man with his power, sort of like where the Sox have Coco Crisp, except at least Crisp is fast.

Another real problem is that Johnson is playing left field -- a position where you need a certain amount of offense that Johnson isn't good for, especially if you're sacrificing offense for defense in a couple positions like you were last year at short. I have to ask the question: Don't you think the Jays could do better than Reed Johnson?
