It averages about $1.14 for each envelope (to player and your SASE; I usually send 3 photos per mailing)
Hope this helps you and whoever else reads this :)

I would advise you to send to players that have good response rates. You probably not send 3 photos at a time either.
Here is how you specifically send out 8x10s.
1.) A large envelope in which other members can point out. Maybe 11x13?
2.) For the Sase you can use a photo document mailer or a smaller envelope.
What I do a lot of the time is buy ones the post office has that have thick cardboard supports. However they are more expensive and I have stopped doing this.
3.) Write a letter. I hand write ones, which have made me stop sending off so many requests
4.) If it is for a retired player you may want to include a donation. May of the retired stars require fees to sign.
5.) If you want to have it signed in a specific coloir, send a sharpie. I never really do this however, especially in the winter.
You are about set, and for postage I go to the post office.

Yeah, TRY to send one 8x10 ... two at the max.
Envelope size:
Put three 41 cent stamps on the SASE. For the SASE I use 9x12, and for the large envelope I use 10x13 envelopes.
The post office will charge approximately $1.14-$1.20 (when I include a donation or a fee the weight goes up (duh!). I don't ask for any special services (ie; delivery confirmation, insurance, etc, etc). I just send it along standard 3-5 day regular mail.
P.S.

That's how I do it also. I add one more thing. You can go to the post office and these are free. Pick up a couple of those large shipping boxes. Take it home and cut out two or three 8 x 10 cardboard shapes to put behind your 8 X 10 to prevent the post office from bending it. You can usually get two mailings per cardboard insert before the post office finally bends it!
