Does anyone know if Bert Shepard still signs autographs via mail? Shepard was a WW2 amputee who played with the Washigton Senators in 1945. He got into a game on 8/4/45, and did 5.3 innings against Boston (1run, 3hits.) Also, does anyone know if the doctor who saved him, Dr. Ladislaus Loidl, is still alive? Dr. Loidl was still alive as of 1993, but that was 15 years ago, and a lot can happen in 15 years.

According to my research; yes he still does.

Now in reference to if the doctor is still alive. That I do not know. When you write to Mr Shepard ask him to see if he knows.
