Two Leagues or One

For the all time draft, do you want two leagues of seven players, meaning that each league will have it's own Ruth, it's own Bonds, it's own Wagner, and so on. Or would you like one 14 player league. I am making this poll private so each person can express his opinion without public scrutiny. I am staying neutral.

I don't care if we call it one league or two, but I don't want to go back on the draft at this point and I don't want players appearing in both leagues. That doesn't make any sense to me.

We have two leagues in the majors and last time I checked, a player could not be on both an American League team AND a National League team.

I don't really like the poll question because you are really asking if we want one 14 team DRAFT or 2 7 team drafts. Leagues are inconsequential, but I think people may focus on that term.

--The more important issue to me is also that no player be on more than one team. I really don't care about the 1/2 league issue, but voted for 1 to ensure that nobody gets drafted twice.

The biggest issue to me is that we had problems with it taking too long when we had 14 people per draft before.

Besides, going back in the draft is incredibly easy. Until this issue was raised, I had already gone back in my mind. Also, while it's true that MLB doesn't have a player appear in both leagues now, that isn't a big deal, IMO. Just think of the second league as a completely separate draft. If we held a 7 person draft today, and then in 6 months ran a different 7 person draft, would you mind if the same person was taken in both of them? Of course not. This is the same thing, but they're being run simultaneously.

--To me a 7 person all time draft is just not deep enough. Even an idiot can put together a monster team if the worst they are getting is the 7th best player at every position. And everybody would have a few of the best at every position.
--I understand you already did a draft split along AL/NL lines. If you want to split this one maybe it could be between old time and modern players. One league drafting only players born before WWII (or some other date) and the other only players born after.

I think since we've started here, I like the idea of a fourteen team draft. How the leagues work out is somewhat immaterial; two seperate drafts with the same pool of players would be way too unwieldy, and a seven team league really would be too shallow. Again, I think the five year peak thing adds an extra element of fun in a deep league, because there's some guys who wouldn't really rate that highly overall but would absolutely sparkle just going on a five year peak, and that can really come out in a very deep league.

Yeah, there's only one person that wants two leagues. To be honest I don't want only seven teams in one league, the offenses would be just insane. I want something that will be challenging, where decisions need to be made.

Wee Willie, TSS, and DMF also have expressed interest in two leauges, but obviously haven't voted yet. But if we have 7 votes for staying in one league, that wins, since we have 13 voters (14 players, plus Chris says he's obstaining).

I did vote - for one league. If we had 16, I would've voted for two, but one should be fine with 14.

yeah i express interest in 2 leagues (cuz it would make the voting really tough). but i dont care either way so ill go with the majority of one league. im just ready to get this draft rolling. my main thing is that everyone in this league be active til the end of the draft. i dont want people to be gone for a long time or just quit halfway. like if im gone for awhile, i got a friend who will pick for me and let you guys know about it. i know the majority of you will be active and pick quickly.

only thing that sucks for me is that i lost my all time list (some 270+ players) from my computer and dont have a backup so im doing this on the fly.

also we're probably gonna need a roster thread so if you want me to post one then i will...
