Well, try to get tickets beside or behind the dugout. They will usual had it or just tos it up there and its up for grabs. I am not sure they do this at MLB games though.

I have about 10, all came from the AAA Indianapolis Indians, and most of them were from big leaguers who were at AAA while on injury rehab. Todd Zeile's Mizuno is a freaking club, the heaviest bat I have ever held. I also have a Matt Stairs, Tom Foley, & Eric Anthony
Get to know someone who works for your local minor league team. My best friend growing up ended up working for the local AAA team in high school and college. He would bat-boy sometimes, but also work in the clubhouse. He even has a AAA World Series Championship ring.
He has about 300 broken bats (all of them still in one piece) and several dozen "two piecers." The look incredible lining the walls of his game room. We spend as much time holding the bats as we do shooting pool.
Anyway, if you cannot befriend a clubhouse guy, perhaps you could make them an offer? Suggest to them that you would like a broken bat. Perhaps contact that person, or the team, and arrange for one to be held for you. The players want nothing to do with them, so you'll just negotiate with the clubhouse guys. Maybe a nice letter sent to them directly?
Offer to make a donation to an area Little League in either the team's name of the clubhouse guy's name, in exchange for a bat or two. Don't feel like you have to donate big bucks... these are broken bats. Maybe $25 for a couple of bats. You may end up with some nice one's (the hand me down bats with big leaguers names on them are especially nice)..... good luck!

The easiest answer is a simple one:
Be polite, friendly, and cordial. That's pretty much it. Simply ask JOE PLAYER, that if he breaks a bat, could you possibly get it. Heck,...sometimes you'll luck out and get an uncracked one like these Pence & Crowe gamers.
Pence gamer - uncracked - He was AWESOME to us & appreciative of us.

Crowe gamer - was suppose to take him and a couple other LC Captains to a club @ the Jersey Shore. Gave fiance and me his cell #. Fiance lost the friggin' number....lol. Next series he came up to us and thought we "stood him up"....hahaha

While we are on the subject of bats. How do you store your cracked bats? The son got one about three years ago from one of the players on the DustDevils but we still haven't done anything to put it out on show...

My bats are in the garage right now, lol... but the house is for sale and EVERYTHING is either in the garage or the storage unit!
My buddy has his simply leaning up against the wall in the game room. Bat after bat after bat.
You can buy relatively cheap racks to hang the bat on a wall. Some are clear acrylic and either rest the bat horizontally, or hang it vertically by the knob end. As little as $5-$10 for them.
You can buy more expensive display pieces as well. Wooden boxes with a glass front, etc.
Or simly lean it in the corner of the room.....
