Tony, I agree on all counts above.......

Fred Valentine is a great signer...I go back extras from him.
The O'Brien brothers, Ed and Jon, are truly wonderfull guys. I have heard this from former teams mates. I sent the Topps reprint to one of them and it took a while to come back, but it did, with sigs from both. And it is one of my favorite piees in my collection. So, I did it again...and got more back. I recomend that anyone get that dual card and send. Really impressive.
And Johnny Logan is as classy as can be.

And finally, my Mieselman came yesterday and it slept with my last night. I'm pumped...there are names that appear that weren't there before and along with the 2006-2007 newbies there is going to be plenty to do!!!!!!

1 Failure today -

One of my envelopes came back torn with nothing inside. It was weird because the tear was about 3/4 of the way through the envelope, which leads me to suspect someone pulled out the entire contents of the envelope (letter and card). It was in a plastic bag with a "sorry" note from the USPS.

Tom Brunansky, Mark Grace and John Kruk. Hopefully I get all of them back.

I've seen DOZENS of Boggs successes over the last 2 weeks or so. As soon as I noticed a few of them, I sent mine out. (January 8th). Still waiting with fingers crossed. I've seen DOZENS of Boggs successes over the last 2 weeks or so. As soon as I noticed a few of them, I sent mine out. (January 8th). Still waiting with fingers crossed. Best TTM day in the year or so that I have been collecting!

I just returned to school after Christmas break, and I found 6 SASEs waiting for me. One of them was one that only had a 39 cent stamp on it, so I knew it was old, but it was also heavily damaged by water, so my hopes weren't too high for the well-being of whatever was inside. It turned out to be Goose Gossage, and thanks to the protective index cards, the card itself was relatively untouched by the water damage. In the end it took 323 days for me to get this back, making it my longest response time so far.

In addition, I got a return from former pitcher Billy Hoeft in 10 days, and a return from football HoFer Clarence "Ace" Parker, who also played several seasons in MLB.

Aside from baseball, I also got returns from NFL players Tommy Casanova, John Mackey, and Chuck Bednarik (the latter two are both HoFers too)

So the final tally for the day is 1 baseball Hall of Famer, 3 football Hall of Famers, a MLB all-star pitcher, and an NFL pro-bowl player. Not a bad day at the mailbox at all!

I got an interesting one today.

I received an EMPTY SASE return envelope in the mail with NO POSTMARK and the STAMP crossed out. I know it had to be in one of my letters because it was folded in thirds just like I normally have it in the letter. I am trying to figure out where it came from, as I have no clue to its origin. Anyone ever encounter this?

This is my second busted TTM return in about 2-3 weeks, with another one coming torn in half with the contents gone and an apology note from the USPS.

My sentiments exactly. From free to $25 is bit of a reach IMO. Yes,...some die-hards will still be willing to shell out the $25, but I can pretty much guarantee his mail is going to be all but a trickle of what it use to be.

I provided the SASE. I sent the request to him on December 22nd of last yr.
Well you ARE allowed to receive mail when you are in prison (whether it's local lockup, or the pen). I would be willing to bet that any mail sent there is screened prior to Mr Aikens seeing it.
