How do you train vision? I mean; tracking, depth perception, etc.
Also, does anyone have any advice on wearing contacts while playing baseball? I just got contacts. I went from 20-50 and 20-30 to 20-15 and 20-15. I am a little nervous about the dust, etc. Any advice or tricks would be appreciated.
Happy new year,
Connor
P.S.- I want laskis when I turn 21. You have to be at least 21 to get it.

I have not thought about this in 20 years. I got contacts in college, one popped out on a head first slide at home plate, catchers mitt to the face.
Played the rest of the game with one eye closed.
What I learned was to bring a spare pair (or glasses) and always bring solution to wash your eyes out when/if necessary.
Listen to all of it. Also get plenty of wearing time in before the season starts cause you won't know how to troubleshoot on-field problems in the first weeks. In fact you won't even know what the problems might be.

You can't get them until you are 21.

Nike has sports color tinted contact out that gives you a better contrast so you can pick up the ball better.

Dr. Bill Harrison is the top baseball eye guy around. You can look at his stuff on his web site http://www.performancefundamentals.com/. He has been doing this for 30+ years & was instrumental in the Kansas City Academy in the late 60's. I know that he had a great influence on George Brett.
Hope this helps you all.

My girl had Lasik a couple months ago and the result to her was amazing. She sacrifice more than 20years for her astigmatism wearing thick glasses but now don’t need to wear glasses anymore, She had an eye surgery in my2020 (http://www.my2020.com).In most cases, people who have had LASIK can return to work and resume normal activities the very next day following their surgery. However, be sure to consult your doctor before engaging in swimming or any other physical activities that could disrupt the healing process. The healing process was fast because they used an advanced technology and state of the art facilities. The link might help you to understand about Lasik and if you have some other question related to lasik that one might help you. God bless

Iv'e been playing baseball and softball for over 15 years with contacts and have only had one instance where one fell out when being slapped in the face with a glove.
As far as vision training, check out www.frozenropes.com. They have an entire system for improving vision with regards to tracking a baseball and identifying movement and rotation. I believe you will get many answers here.

The Manny DVD they made about vision training is outstanding.
There's tons of drills you can do for vision. During high school we had an Iron Mike and I would go in there and just watch the ball all the way in for about 20 pitches. I wouldn't swing, but would start like I was going to. This helped focus in picking the ball up early and watching it's path. When I play catch I've made it a habit to focus on the other guy's hand to see where the ball is coming out from and same as before, watch it all the way in.
Basic, but effective.

Tiger doesn't have to play at night.
My post-Lasik daytime vision is great, but not so great at night, even under lights. When I play OF in softball, I see two fly balls coming at me until they merge about 100 feet away. My doctor acts like he's never heard of such a thing, but it's called ghosting and is extremely difficult to impossible to fix (caused by the scarring from the sliver that it shaved off the eyeball to allow the laser to do its thing, then put back in place).
Having large pupils and irises makes ghosting much more likely...mine were so large that it made it very difficult to properly scan my eyes before surgery.
Technology always moves ahead and this issue will probably be resolved with the next step forward in eye correction surgery, but do some research before you make a major decision like that. I was 38 when I had the surgery done, so my eyes were very likely to start going south after that point, anyway.
