Alright So I was gonna buy a donut but im saving for a glove "see signature" anyway I dont wanna spend money, so I have a 32" wooden bat that is about 28-30oz Is there anyway to make a bat weight? about 20oz? that wouldnt be permanent, also I seen a bat that hid fins on it that made it with resistance when you swing it? it didnt look hard but how would you make those fins?

What are you trying to gain/accomplish with this weighted bat? Then others and I may be able to help you.

Im gonna be doing a Overload/ Underload with the bats, to work on my hitting power, and bat speed, I also heard about hitting a tire with a sledge hammer lol that increases rotational power or something like that, it would be great if you could help me thanks.

I'd like to know please, also if someone could help to make a ball heavier lol, and not many people have been on this site in the last 3-4 days.

Now why would you wanna make a baseball heavier.

From 31.5 of The Science and Art of Baseball Pitching: "As has been pointed out earlier, once the arm is cocked to throw, the arm movement propelling the ball is not powered by muscular contraction (Jobe, Tibone, Perry, & Moynes, 1983). Propulsion comes from elastic energy stored in the appropriate structures. As a tangential explanation, this is why weight training of any form will not increase arm throwing velocity; because arm-throw velocity is not caused by the muscular movements trained by using weights. Finally, after the ball release when the arm segments have to slow down to prevent injury, high levels of muscular contractions take place to slow the join movements and absorb the kinetic energy in the high-velocity limb movement."

Go work on increasing your speed of movement, momentum, and mechanics (as pitching is a skill)

theres so many different opinions though, throwing heavier balls will help, lifting will help, lifting does nothing, fast mechanics are good, slow, controlled mechanics are better. I have no idea lol I've looked all over the net. and my pitching coach teaches slow controlled mechanics.

I'm going to quote beemax. If you want to learn more about him, pm him. I'd listen to him...

Anyway here is what beemax said over at the mm pitching thread...

I can't find it... so for now I'll basically say what he said...

He said something on the lines of..."I'd rather face a hard thrower w/ no deception than a soft thrower w/ deception..."
Something like that.

Beemax, could you help me out here?

Basically what I was getting at is that velocity is not key.

Yeah its so long, its hard to find...

I'll put it up when I find it... but beemax and chris say that MM kids haven't proven that they can play pro, because they don't have great movement or something like that.
Read above post... I'll fill it in...

I found it dont worry about it, but im not asking about MM mechanics lol I was asking how to make weighted balls and bats.

and who's beemax? I read he plays pro ball... Major league or minor? and what team?

Yes but I was talking in response to this...

OH yea lol duh haha, I see now but it talked about marshalls pitchers the one I read, maybe I read the wrong post, but im not even considering marshall.

How does this not make sense? He said that velocity isn't that important and there are more important things to pitching.

I was referring to your velocity comment. It does matter who he was talking to. You can take things out like that.

velocity is honestly everything in common sense would you take the guy that throws mid 80's with good control, decent change, and a developing curve,

or a guy who throws low 90's no control whatsoever, no offspeed

they should take the first guy but they will take the 2nd, most college coaches believe you can teach command, but not arm strength idk why, but thats what they look at first,

velocity
mechanics
command
offspeed stuff

and lol im not gonna get anywhere throwing 70 even at highshcool unless I could hit a can of coke in all the different zones, with a great curve, great changeup lol unless you guys can help that.

anyway get back to my topic about making it heavier.

There are more important things than velocity... read what beemax and chris o'leary say to fastball and postblanc...

If you still have trouble understanding that... ask and I'll try to help.
