I stride a little to the closed side and I want to learn in the future how to step over back in line so that I can get the hips to open up into landing.

This can be a very powerfull move that I think will help me gain a couple MPH.

Also I'm sure there are other pitchers like theses two that step over in there wind-up.

Watch how tim lincecum goes down and out then lifts his leg up and around powerfully and rotates hard and throws.

A couple more videos

What are the steps in the Step Over?

To me it looks like when leg comes down and is even with you U want to lift it up with your body and then throw while coming back in line but IDK.

Just do it man. Get the momentum going and use your core to land with your toes pointing at or just to the right of the target with your shoulders closed, then fire away. Period. Too much thought will make you :crazy

I know that I'm just wondering about it. That's what I have been doing just throwing and trying to explode down the mound balanced without leanning back.

My son wants to swing his leg and winds up to open. I put him on a balance bean I made for hitting, and he has to stay online.

What is the size off this balance beam?

sounds like a great drill you either miss the balance beam or land on it right?

Just 2x6 or 2x12 on top of a couple of 4x4's.

RIstar, can you make a video of yourself throwing the crap out of the ball as far as you can? Watch the video and use that motion. How hard is that to do?

ok well I like the wind-up I have I feel I'm pretty explosive with it. Just need to work on a couple little things and I should be fine.

I use my deception with the back turn and exposive movement to my advantage with my fastball and change-up which is pretty close to the same action I'm working hard on the same motion 100% for both.
