Select Red Sox tickets went on sale today...anyone get any?

I got shut out, despite 4 hours of trying...at one point, I had three computers and two phones going...and still....nothing.

I think it'll make me feel better if I know that at least some of the tickets went to other fans, and not straight to scalpers! :ughh

Is this a first? It's not even Christmas yet! It's ridiculous that they sell out most games before Spring Training, let alone selling some tickets now. Can't fault the fan support, that is for sure.

Glad to hear someone had better luck than I did. Enjoy the games...hope to make it to a few myself!

i would LOVE to sit in those green monster seats, hell i'd even take those green monster standing room tickets but you have to wait in line all day for those. i wonder how much the seats will go for this year.

good luck getting tickets, sucks that they are so popular and the seating capacity is so small.

In late 1995 (or early 1996, I don't remember the exact day) the Indians sold out the 1996 season on the first day that tickets were made available.

I've seen seats there online for about 265 a pop, not that bad.

That's impressive, especially since 1996 wasn't even the first year of Jacob's Field. Of course, part of the 455 sellout streak. Is Boston on a similar streak? Has every game officially sold out the past few seasons?

I'm not sure what the Bosox sellout streak is now, but it does seem like it's been several seasons. Were they posting something like 350 consecutive games sold out out on the scoreboard late last season??
I sat in one of those online waiting rooms on Sunday for a few hours, but honestly wasn't paying a lot of attention to it. I wasn't around on Saturday to try, but probably wouldn't have, anyway. The team was something like 1-7 in games I attended last season, so I'm not super jazzed about snagging tickets at this point.

This was on the Sox Website, and thought it would help.

The Sox have sold out their last 388 home games, a streak that started on May 15, 2003. It is the second-longest streak in Major League history.

It's a phony record, but the Indians have it. For the record, I was at both the first and last games of the sell out streak.

It was right after the Indians went to the World Series for the first time in 41 years. The 455 streak was underway when this season sold out.

I didn't have that long to wait Saturday morning, I'm totally cunsumed coaching basketball right now, that's mainly why I've been AWOL on here for some time now. My wife and I are making our first trip to Boston the first week in June. We'll be at the Tampa Bay game on Thursday, June 5 and then catch Seattle on Saturday, June 7.

The only other ticket outlet I know of is Seat Data which uses seats.com (they have a network with other outlets like Tickets Now, Razor Gator, Ticket Right and Stub Hub). Before I pay an arm and a leg for some tickets, which I figured I would anyway, does anyone know of any other national ticket outlets that are worth looking into?

So where do you live, Dirt Dog? I always thought you were in Boston or in its suburbs.

I broke down and bought tickets from StubHub yesterday. Sunday, 5/18 vs. the Brewers in the RF boxes. $198 after all the fees and stuff. Painful, but I get to bring my fiancee to see the Sox about 1 month before the wedding. It should be a nice break for us, and a good time.

Got 2 tickets in the bleachers for the 2nd game of the series against the Twins in July. Good value!

I'm Australian, so this will be my first baseball game (no better place to start than Fenway). What are the Bleachers like? I know the seats aren't the best, but is the view ok? It seems a long way from the plate.

Also, what are the people there like? would it matter if I happened to be a Twins fan?? :shhh:
