Kentucky Bomber

I collected cards from the late 70's till the card companies got over the top around 1992, so I have a bunch of cards that I never really look at.
My main focus has been publications, and on Yankees publications.
I have Yankees Yearbooks from all years, 1950-2007 with many, if not all variations, 107 books total. I have all Yankee Media Guides 1955-2007. My biggest recent pickup along this line was the Program from the Japanese Tour of 1955 with Mantle as the color cover, along with a ticket from one of the games played there.
I've collected baseball books since I was a kid and have about 2000 in my collection, ranging from the 19th century to the present, although I've slacked off in recent years. I have autographed copies of books by Mantle (5 different), Ford, Williams, Minoso, Mize, Brooks Robinson and others.

I was able to get a wooden seat from the original Yankee Stadium during the 1973 renovation. All you had to do was go to the ballpark and pay $10. I'm sure that seats will be available when the old stadium shuts down, but I'll bet they won't go for $10!

I started collecting Hall of Famers autographs on the yellow plaque cards in the 1980's and got almost every living HOF'er at that time when virtually every one of them would sign for free through the mail if you sent them a SASE. When the prices for those autographs got out of hand I stopped hunting them down, so I've added very few in the last 15 years or so.
Finally, I'll mention my World Series Programs. I had a few from the 1960's onward and then worked backwards through the 1950's when eBay entered my life. :dance I set out to get at least 1 of every Yankees World Series Program and it went from there. I have 1921-24, 1926-2007. In most cases through 1973 (the last year the individual clubs put out their own program) I have both programs, after that one per year, although in recent years there has been a commemorative program put out after the Series to celebrate the winning team, and I have a few of those. The total has reached 137.
I've been at this pretty much all my life, although I have to admit I flushed a bunch of stuff (programs mostly but some other stuff as well) in my early twenties. No, my Mom didn't throw out my cards. It's been fun. Thankfully I married an understanding woman.
