While there were a few other small deals the Tigers made. Jose Capellan for Denny Bautista comes to mind. I am going to only explore these 3 moves.

Omar Infante for Jacques Jones,

Jair Jurrjens and minor leaguer* for Edgar Renteria,

Andrew Miller, Eulogio De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Mike Rabelo and minor leaguers** for Miguel Cabrera and Dontrell Willis.

The named players that the Tigers gave up are the ones with any kind of MLB experience.

What the Tigers gave up:

Average age of players w/MLB experience: 23 y/o
Total MLB Games: 604 (Omar Infante G 494 and G 66 in 2007)
Total MLB Games in 2007: 167

What the Tigers got:

Average age: 28 y/o
Total MLB Games: 3864
Total MLB Games in 2007: 451

What the Tigers gave up offense: (Infante, Maybin, and Rabelo)
AB 1803, H 453, .251AVG (not including pitchers hitting stats)

What the Tigers got: (Renteria, Jacques Jones, and Cabrera)
AB 13809, H 4031, .292AVG (not including D Willis AB 351, 82 H, .234AVG)

Pitching what the Tigers gave up: (Jurrjens, Miller, and De La Cruz)
average age: 22 G 34, W/L 8-7, IP 111, ER 68, ERA 5.51

What the Tigers got: (only Dontrelle Willis)
age: 25 G 162, W/L 68-54, IP 1022.7, ERA 3.78

*Gorkys Hernandez is the minor leaguer in the Renteria trade
**Dallas Trahern and Burke Badenhop are the minor leaguers in the Willis, Cabrera trade.

Now only after 10-15 years will we know if the Tigers truely made out like bandits. But for where the Tigers are right now, and considering how little of the current roster the Tigers gave up, to get these deals done. Dave Dombrowski is certainly earning his salary.

A fantastic trade for the Tigers!!
"I'm glad we're in the other division," Boston manager Terry Francona said. "That lineup just got scary."

C Rodriguez 2.57
1B Guillen 3.55
2B Polanco 3.20
SS Renteria 2.98
3B Cabrera 4.15
LF Jones 2.53
CF Granderson 3.49
RF Ordonez 4.65
DH Sheffield 3.28
(1.00 -5.00 stars)

To make room, it appears Detroit would likely have to trade third baseman Brandon Inge or left fielder Marcus Thames.

1-5 Rotation
1 Verlander
2 Bonderman
3 Willis
4 Rogers
5 Durbin/Robertson

The big problem, of course, is the bullpen, where Joel Zumaya is out for at least half the year and Detroit will hope that Fernando Rodney can bounce back and be an effective setup man for closer Todd Jones. That problem has gone unaddressed.

Dombrowski is going around robbing folks without a pistol!

I'd love to hear what it is that he tells opposing GMs as he's robbing them blind.

It doesn't really matter how good your 'pen is when they'll be up 10-0 by the time the starter comes out of the game.

I'm happy for the Tigers and Detroit. It won't be fun playing them, but it's really nice to see a team that had been down for a while, so dramatically and quickly turn around what is one of the more historic baseball franchises, while reinvigorating the fanbase at the same time.

Acording to Baseball Reference and their most comparable by age. Dave Dombrowski just traded:

Shawon Dunston (Omar Infante) and others** for Hank Aaron (Miguel Cabrera), Alan Trammell (Edgar Renteria), Steve Avery (Dontrelle Willis), and Rondell White (Jacques Jones).

**to be fair the others did not have a large enough sample size to have any comparable by ages listed. Still, Dave "FREAKING" Dombrowski.

Steve Avery (Dontrelle Willis)

You shouldn't be happy about that one at all.

Looking at it you are right....I did not remember Steve Avery being so washed up at 25 years of age. I thought he had a few more productive years before he pitched in the 2003 season for the Tigers with nothing left but moxie.
