Maybe the Yankees should have made the MVP record the incentives.

If A-Rod can stay happy, he's the favorite for the next 5 years, but if voters pull a Rollins or two on him...

He should probably have 5, maybe 6 right now.

I think it will happen just so Bonds won't have a record. Even if A-Rod isn't that deserving of his 6th.

You do realize that Bond's has SEVEN MVP awards don't you? So having six of them isn't even a tie, let alone breaking the record.

To tie, A-Rod would have to win 4 more MVP's - and do so in the decline period of his career.

He could easily win a couple more, but who knows. So unless he pulls a "Bond's" and suddenly gets better than before, I doubt he will end up with 8 MVP's, or even 7 (or 6 for that matter).

Yeah, Barry Bonds and A-Rod had 10 MVPs more than World Series Rings, and as it turns out, A-Rod will win more MVPs than WS Rings.

And?

Winning a ring is being in the right place at the right time. Ronnie Belliard has a ring.

MVP is (theoretically) being the best in the game. Of course, the writers aren't a fan of logic so A-Rod only has 3 MVPs and Pujols only has 1.

He should already have six, IMO. But that's not what the question asks so, I'll go with six as my answer.

Pujols has 1 MVP, but he should have 4 by now if not by the press being obsessed with Barroids, but the differente between Pujols and A-Rod is 1, yup, 1 WS ring.

I'm a Cardinal fan through and through. But c'mon, Pujols didn't one man gang it to his one WS ring just like A-Rod can't do that either. Comparing players by the rings they win? I mean, geez, when did this become the NFL? It's stupid enough when people compare QB's by their superbowl rings -- it takes a _TEAM_ to win a trophy, not one player, ace.

But still Pujols won it with a team with far less talent than the Yankees with all those good players, and still choke in the first round of the playoffs.

This is Alex Rodrigeuz's third and final MVP.

A-rod will probably get at least 1 more in the next few years before age kicks in and he'll have to really work at it to earn any more. Cant see him getting more than 2 extra titles though. Apart from barry then not many people have won multiple MVP's in their mid to late 30's, especially power hitters.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about breaking the home run record, while ending up with 6 MVP's.
