Scott Boras started believing his own press. He got the accolades as other agents lived in obscurity. Somehow Boras figured he was special, his voice would and must be heard above all others.

His head busted with all this found wisdom. He had to let it out. Under the name of Alex Rodriguez he pontificated from his office, the street corner, the telephone and a box seat.

He continued to believe he was a sage and that all should hear the rumblings of his gift. He couldn't even hold out until after the Series. He had to be heard. He was bigger than the game - bigger than the World Series.

Along the way, he forgot about his guys. A-rod was turned off and so was Kenny Rogers. They're pushing him aside and ignoring his advice like a typical loud-mouthed, self-important uncle at Thanksgiving.

Other clients are surely tired of the show. God knows, the fans are; however, he has one solace, the media will keep lapping up every one of his words. Whoops, isn't that how it all started?

i would look for collusion here. But since its collusion against an agent and not players then it would not be as bad, and the owner could fight it. But what is happening to Boras is not natural. Something is going on behind the scenes. I am sure it is major league baseball and the owner making an effort to take him down a peg.

I donīt think the owners and MLB were necessary to have Boras pushed aside by some of his clients.
He simply made a mistake that will cost Rodriguez millions, because of his wrong estimation of the market.
I mean, how else do you get the Yankees, of all teams, having the exclusive shot at the best player in baseball, to not even making an offer ?
In my opinion Hank Steinbrenner alone was enough to take Boras back on earth.

*shrug* I doubt this affects Boras at all long term. He has more than enough clients not to have to worry, and Boras is still the agent for Boras. As for Kenny Rogers, he'll easily survive the loss of an old pitcher.
