I'm not sure what the link means, but the bobblehead doll looks cute.
I'm not endorsing the site, but here's a list of 2008 free agents:

This is basically spamming!
The dude joins and for his first post he asks people to go checkout a poll that he created over at some other site.
We have poll functions here! And the frequency with which they are used is the source of no controversy at all! :hide:

Obviously, just about any of the "name" free agents would improve the Royals, but I don't want any of them. At a price that comparable to their market value all of them are long term liabilities. When you suck there is no need to spend big bucks to prove it.

Yeah, you're right about the link. I just removed the link, agreeing with you that it wasn't worthwhile. Sometimes a fresher mind that's more aware may have the right answer.
Anyway, can this thread be saved? Which free agents would you like on your team?

What are the Royals' needs right now? Of the players that are available, which ones would you be interested in? Looking at their previous salaries and whatever you perceive the marketplace to be, how much would you be willing to offer, either in years or annual salary?

i heard the royals are looking at hunter.
in regards to my twins, i hope they dont do anything. i know they need help, but they need an outfielder, and preferably a strong offensive right hander. i really dont see the mn brass doing any of that though. it sucks but theyve got to make decisions on who to keep, not who to add.

You mean Torii Hunter? I wouldn't blame him. Is his defense still great? I still remember that All-Star HR that he'd caught from Bonds and how Barry picked him up on his shoulder for that. Hilarious humor on the field! :laugh
David DeJesus (http://www.baseball-reference.com/d/dejesda01.shtml) was KC's CFer in 2007. His SLG has slipped and he's batting .260. Torii's .287 BA isn't much better, but you're talking about an .839 OPS, so I won't complain much about that.
I think that the Royals could have some company in bidding for Torii's services if Melky Cabrera is traded away to get a starting pitcher.
Aaron Rowand remains another possibility whose fielding I think has been very good.

I agree w/ KCGHOST. I wouldn't be interested in Hunter if I was KC. They can't become competitive by simply signing a couple of good, but not great and overpriced free agents. It's not an efficient use of their resources. What would say, five, extra wins mean to the Royals? They have to build a core of of quality players from within that can put them on the brink of being competitive before they go out and commit lots of money over many years to free agents like Hunter.

Here is the significant FA signings:
T.Hunter --- > LA Angels
L.Castillo ---> NY Mets
T.Glavine ---> Atlanta
M.Kobayashi ---> Cleveland
Estrada ---> NY Mets
Mota ---> Milwaukee
Kendall ---> Milwaukee
and A-Rod, Posada and Rivera accepted Yankees offer.
Lowell accepted Boston's offer.

I'd be happy for the brewers to re-sign Coco Cordero. As long as the price in the long run isn't too high. I'd much rather them save their pennies and put them towards the young guys on the team whose contracts will need renewing in the coming years.

Apsolutely. Cordero is a very strong player.
He didn't signed?
I like their lineup: Corey Hart, J.J. Hardy, Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun, Bill Hall, Rickie Weeks, Jason Kendall. Wow.

Not yet, negotiations are apparently still underway.
There is word that the brewers have been in contact with Troy Percival also.
