Today from That Horse's Butt Ed Wade regarding Curt Schilling:

"He's shown he's not only a big game pitcher, but from a personal standpoint, I know he's the most prepared pitcher I've been around in a long time." (as if Ed Wade would know a prepared pitcher from prepared mustard....)

This from his former GM who once said of Schilling while with the Phillies... "every fifth day he's a horse, and the rest of the time he's a horse's ass..."

A perfect characterization of said horse/horse's arse.

Neither quote disputes Wade's acknowledgement of Schilling's ability nor disagree about how he feels about Schilling personally. I don't get it. :noidea

I'm sure both quotes are accurate.

I don't see a conflict between the two.

I'm no fan of Curt the person, but I'm a big fan of Curt the pitcher.

I wonder who's gonna be laughing next summer...will it be Ed Wade every time Manuel brings in Brad Lidge?

Both quotes may have been correct at the time they were made for all we know. Times and people change, though.
