Here is a little trivia for those who may have forgotten or didnt hear...Craig Biggio recorded his 3000th hit vs the Colorado Rockies earlier this year, yes the rockies who won the penant this year...yet back in 1988 he got his first career hit against the eventual NL Champion...Who was the team?...and is he the only one in the 3000-club who got his first hit against that years eventual penant winner and his 3000th hit against that years eventual penant winner...if you need a hint...he got his first hit against a NL west team

Well, if it is 1988, the Dodgers won the world series that year, so that must be it.

6/2/88. Orel Hershiser throws a two-hit shutout against Nolan Ryan and the 'Stros and Biggio accounted for half the offense.

Wow... Easy question...

Who was the only player to get a triple for his 3000th hit?

(another easy one)

The corollary to the Molitor question is who is the only player to hit a homerun on his 3,000th hit

Think that was Biggio again against my Rockies. Didn't Frank Thomas get his 500th HR the same day and then got ejected for arguing a called strike?

Yep. Arguing balls & strikes will get you tossed, even if you're Big Frank.

Nope, he was caught before he even reached second base, I was meaning after he was congratulated on base.
