There have been food threads here before, focusing more on people's favorite items, but...

What are some signature consessions at parks around the majors?

I'd say that the signature item at Shea is probably the italian sausage with peppers and onions.

Obviously in Philly, the signature item would be cheesteak. Water ices are probably another.

San Diego would have to be fish tacos. Pittsburgh's signature item is probably Primanti Brothers' sandwiches.

Everyone knows about the Dodger Dogs at Dodger Stadium so I'll go with the Gordon Biersch garlic fries.

Do hot dogs with different names (fenway franks, dodger dogs, etc) even count? I honestly don't think they should.

I know Yankee Stadium started selling chinese food ever since Matsui started playing for the Yankees. How ironic is that?

Well, if a hot dog is a ballpark's signature item, then why not.

That's funny about Matsui and the Chinese food. I guess they figure Asian food is Asian food. Is that stuff at the stadium edible? I got sick from Wok and Roll once.

Other U.S. Cellular Field staples include the churros (creme stuffed tube-like pastries sprinkled in cinnamon and sugar), and elotes (pronounced 'ee-LO-tes'-corn cut off the cob, and served with mayo, parmesan cheese, and Mexican spices)

I dont know if it's edible. I didnt try it yet. It's really expensive. Honestly, I'd rather buy a $6 burger than a $10 order of sesame chicken.

And, once again about the hot dogs................doesn't EVERY baseball stadium sell hotdogs? That's basically why I dont think hotdogs should count

I understand your point about hot dogs.

I just mean that if one ballpark's are famous and a considered a must-have item, I'd consider it a signature item, even if you can get hot dogs anywhere.

I don't know if I will get blasted for this because it's not a "ballpark concession." Especially on the weekend games at Busch Stadium, I like to stop by Gus' Pretzels just down the highway from the stadium, across the highway from the brewery. They have brats and hotdogs (much larger than those at the ballpark) covered in pretzel dough and cooked. They are awesome and inexpensive. I want to say that they are only $2.50. Get yourself a soda and a bag of pretzel bites to go with one and you will spend around $5. I think they also sell deli sandwiches too. I recommend those in St. Louis or those fans visiting to give it a try. It's best to go before a day game. Fans are always stopping by before the game.

Had elotes for the first time this year. I always wanted to try it and man, that was absolutely delicious! I usually try to get a small bag of plain churros, but this year I kept going to get them too late and they always ran out.
