Have you ever gone to the ballpark and gotten free hot dogs in a giveaway promotion?

No... but in 1984 the Mets gave away strawberry sundaes on a Sunday to celebrate Darryl Strawberry's being named NL Rookie of the Year for '83.
I remember the TV commercial for the event (Tim McCarver asking Darryl what if his name had been Diamond or Gold), and fishing through receptacles during and after the game for additional vouchers; it wasn't an easy task, since many of them were creased or sticky from ice cream residue (since I don't like strawberry ice cream, I kept the voucher I was handed when I entered the ballpark in pristine mint condition).

Good promotion! I would go for that. Not that I am a big fan of strawberry ice cream, but hey a freebie is a freebie.

Not free, but I've been to Richmond Braves games where hot dogs were $0.25.

Marlins had a promotion this past year where if the Marlins scored at least 10 runs, you get a half dozen donuts free at Dunkin' Donuts. Lo and behold, the Fish scored 10 runs the game I was at, so on my drive home, I stopped at the Dunkin Donuts and asked for my half dozen. The clerk looked at me as if I had antennas growing out of my head. However, I was able to talk her into honoring the deal, even though she claimed she never heard of the promotion.

I remember the promotion the Marlins had in 2003 when if they got 12 hits, you could get a free dozen Krispy Kremes the next day. People would put up signs like "We want donuts!" They worked. I actually claimed my dozen donuts one time.

Cool! I wish I had been able to see a game at the old Comiskey Park (and maybe gotten a free hot dog). Alas, that time has passsed by.

The Tigers used to have a "dog row" promotion where a row was selected at random and everybody in that row got a free hot dog, but I was never in that row.
