I have noticed that whe I do the 60, for the first 40 yards or so, I am just really fast, then I start to fade. When I have to run against another person, its the same, I am way ahead of my other person, but when its the last 20 yards or so I slow down. How can I fix this?
Also, how do I run faster in general. I want my times to be as low as humanly possible for me, so it will look good for many reasons.... right now, to try to make varsity as a freshman.
Thank you,
Connor

Find what changes from the first 40yds compared to the last 20yds and dont do whatever it is!

Your probably letting up for the last 20 yards probably cuz your already ahead. Heres what u can do:
keep running hard!!!!!!!!!! run through your target, if u run 60 yards, run 70 yards hard.
also on your idea of trying to get on the varsity team, all the power to you man. On the running part of that, ask around the seniors whose the fastest, or the centerfielder. ask him to run with you and work out ;) gain some friends on your way.

You're dieing the last 20 yards because your body's not conditioned for it. If you want to be able to run 60's without "bonking," then train by running a greater distance - 80's or 100's.
